TESTING PROCEDURES
4. Tests will be taken within the class period. Exceptions will be made for those with specific testing accommodations. Questions that are left unanswered will be counted as incorrect.
5. If a student is absent on the day a scheduled test is given, they will take the test on the day of their return.
6. If a student is absent on the day of the review for the test, they will take the test as scheduled.
7. If a student was absent and missed new material that will be on the scheduled test, they will take a make-up test on a date scheduled by the teacher. The make-up test may not be the same test as the original, but it will cover the same material.
8. At the end of each grading period, a cumulative test will be given to all students. A. FOR REGULAR MATH COURSES: the cumulative test grade will replace a lower test grade from the same grading period. B. FOR HONORS MATH COURSES: the cumulative test will be used as a test grade AND it will also be used to replace a lower test grade in the corresponding grading period. IF the cumulative test is the lowest test grade, it will be figured into the MP average as a single test grade. IF the cumulative test replaces a lower test grade, it will be figured into the MP average as two test grades.
9. For REGULAR MATH COURSES: Within the first week of receiving a failing test grade, a student may work to remediate for extra test points. This will require morning tutoring at 7:30 and signing in with the teacher. Students will have one attempt at this remediation per failing test for a maximum grade of a 70.
• For up to a total of 10 extra points, a student must attend one day of tutoring and then come in a second day to complete test boost questions.
• For up to a total of 20 extra points, a student must attend 2 days of tutoring and then come in on a third day to complete test boost questions.
• For up to a total of 30 extra points, a student must attend 3 days of tutoring and then come in on a fourth day to complete test boost questions.
